NBN, or National Broadband Network, is Australia's wholesale, open-access data network. It was established by the Australian Government with the aim of providing fast and reliable internet connectivity to every home and business across the country. NBN uses a mix of technologies such as fiber-optic cables, fixed wireless, and satellite to deliver internet services. The network is operated by NBN Co, a government-owned company, and provides speeds of up to 100 Mbps to homes and businesses. The rollout of NBN started in 2010 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. NBN has faced criticism for delays, cost blowouts, and for not delivering the promised speeds to all users.
